This week's testimony in the John Edwards trial sure saw a lot of courtroom drama-it's like watching a real life soap opera unfold before your eyes. First this week we saw the testimony of Cheri Young, the wife of Edwards aide Andrew. Young discussed how difficult it was for her family after her husband claimed paternity of Rielle Hunter's child and claimed the only reason her husband wrote a book on the campaign was because Edwards refused to step forward and tell the truth. She also admitted to taking video of the home Hunter was hiding in, though denied it was fodder for the book. Then came testimony from other Edwards aides, including one who claimed Hunter told him that she and Edwards were in love and another who recounted an argument between John and his wife Elizabeth when she found out about the affair. Christina Reynolds testified that in 2007 John and Elizabeth were at an airport in Raleigh just after the National Enquirer came out with the story of his affair and that Elizabeth stormed off and collapsed into a ball in the parking lot and then returned to tell her husband "you don't see me anymore," ripping off her shirt and bra. After hearing the testimony, Edwards' daughter Cate walked out of the courtroom in tears. Today we heard the testimony of another campaign staffer, Peter Scher, who says he warned Edwards that if he was having an affair, he should not run for president. I own nothing in this video, it is posted for fan comment only by a big fan for big fans . I had parts of it already posted and decided the concert is more enjoyable in it's full form .I see a few PIRATES have this show for sale on the Internet, one guy has it up there with the photo from Mott The Hoople Live as it's cover photo and is calling it a MTH gig. I bought everything Ian's ever recorded so enjoy this concert and BUY Ian's music and go see his show . He has a new album completed called " When I'm President " which Ian says will be released " asap ". Buy it, you won't be disappointed, I never am . This video "was" for many years the only commercially available one of Ian's (although there are a few boots doing the rounds). After recording the Short Back 'n' Sides album, Mick Ronson decided he was sick of touring, so Ian toured instead with Robbie Alter on guitar (tho' Mick would eventually deputize for Tommy Mandel on keyboards when he became ill). This concert was recorded in 1981 at the Dr Pepper Festival at Pier 84, New York City. It was originally recorded for MTV (before they went on air!), and I believe was released commercially in 1983, and was issued on laserdisc (in Japan only?) in 1989 <b>...</b> |

Andrew Young served as a campaign aide for Edwards' unsuccessful run for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008. Tasked with accompanying Edwards' alleged mistress, Rielle Hunter, Young and his family traveled cross country with the woman for months. Friday's testimony covered new ground in the case. Young told jurors he felt threatened to keep quiet about Hunter in the summer and fall of 2008 — and even feared for his life. CNN has a summary of a story Young told in court — when Edwards invited him to meet on his property. "They drove country roads for about 10 minutes ... and Andrew Young said he thought either there was people out there who might shoot him, or, at the very least, that the senator was going to tape record him." Later in his testimony, Young became emotional when he asked why he spent much of Edwards' illegal campaign cash on his own family — taking Edwards' mistress along with his own family on trips to Disneyland, Legoland and Aspen. According to ABC News, he said: "For all the stress... put on my family. My wife, who is an amazing person ... Sorry, (she) managed to keep my kids very balanced." At 6pm on April 20th, 1992, Roger Taylor, Brian May and John Deacon, the surviving members of Queen, took to the stage of London's legendary Wembley Stadium to announce the start of one of the biggest events in rock history, organised by Queen themselves to pay tribute to their former colleague - the incomparable Freddie Mercury. The atmosphere of emotion, mixed joy and sadness, shared by stadium audience, worldwide television viewers, and performers alike, was an experience that will never be forgotten. Queen had invited some of the greatest musical talent in the world to join them in paying tribute to Freddie, who tragically died of AIDS on 24th November 1991. The aim of the concert was to celebrate Freddie's life and work, but also to increase public awareness of the awful disease which prematurely ended his life.
