Paul Boris from Classic 93.1 in Sacramento takes on the final 3 of American Idol as they go home, perform, and then try their hardest to get the votes and all that. It was a judge's song pick, then the contestants' own choice, then one from Jimmy Iovine. Joshua Ledet: Etta James "I Go Blind," John Lennon "Imagine," & Mary J. Blige "No More Drama." Sort of meh all around. I was surprised by the result, but still. Jessica Sanchez: Mariah Carey "My All," Aerosmith "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing," & Jackson 5 "I'll Be There." Kind of the same as Joshua. Very underwhelming though she sang them all well. Phillip Phillips: Madcon "Beggin'," Matchbox 20 "Disease," & Bob Seger "We've Got Tonight." This is what I call a crap sandwich with artisan bread. Two great performance wrapped around one that just tastes like crap. Phillp Phillip easily steals the show tonight though. Who wins it all? I think Phillip unless Jessica can somehow absorb Joshua's voters, but the folks I feel were fans of Joshua wouldn't be too keen to spread said vote to anyone else. Then again I get hit by lightning for saying that... |

Ceremonia a fost deschisă cu un discurs al pastorului Marvin Winans. Printre cei prezenţi au fost şi Oprah Winfrey, Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Spike Lee, dar şi fostul soţ al lui Whitney Houston, Bobby Brown, care a plecat foarte repede. Kevin Costner şi-a amintit cum a ajuns să joace alături de cântăreaţă în filmul "The Bodyguard". Actorul a spus că numai ea ar fi putut interpreta acel rol. "Whitney se reîntoarce acasă, în locul de unde începe totul. Escortată de o armată de îngeri, spre Dumnezeu, atunci când vei cânta în faţa lui, să nu-ţi faci griji Whitney, vei fi minunată", a spus Kevin Costner. Cântăreaţa va fi înmormântată astăzi, lângă locul de veci al tatălui ei. Whitney Houston a murit la sfârşitul săptămânii trecute.
