Tim Porter's Juggling (Synopsis) Andrew Watson, a 23 year old businessman is carrying an overbearing guilt that is eating away at his very existence. Leading two different lives, he is failing to get a grip on either. At the root of his problem is finding himself torn between two women; one being his disabled mother who is solely dependent on her son, the other, Jill (a fellow co-worker), who provides Andrew with an opportunity of a possible future of independence. Andrew is conflicted psychologically. Trying to balance both these lives seemingly puts grave strain on both relationships and his working life. His mother, when left unattended, is accident-prone leading Andrew to be consumed with fear of separation from his mother. This leads him to symptomatically return to the role of a child. Tim Porter's Juggling is a dark, unflinching and disturbing experience. A hybrid of several genres and constantly challenging audience expectations, the less you know about it the stronger the effect. BBC TV's The One Show presenters Alex Jones and Chris Evans despatched raving reporter Alex Riley to check out Olympic city crier Tony Appleton after he was chosen to ring his bell at the London Games. Lord Appleton of Great Baddow has secured a ringing role in the opening and closing ceremonies of the London Olympic Games. Tony Appleton, who performs the role in Chelmsford and Romford, was among 2000 people who successfully auditioned for the Danny Boyle-directed events. He said he would learn more about his part when rehearsals begin. Mr Appleton said: "I'm ecstatic, I didn't know what to do with myself when I learned about it. I just hope I get my words right." He added: "It will be my biggest ever audience - certainly much bigger than Chelmsford High Street." Mr Appleton explained he had been one of about 10000 people who applied to take part in the ceremonies and had to attend two auditions. He said: "When I went there I was dressed as a town crier and ended up dancing for three-and-a-half hours. "I'm getting on for 75, but I do train every day to keep myself fit, because I've got a lot of work to do. "We've got nine rehearsals to do before the opening ceremony, so I'm going to be really, really busy." Mr Appleton, who has been a town crier for 20 years and has performed at large events including the New Year's Day parade in London, has a big year ahead of him. My brother, Sergeant R. Evans Taylor, was murdered 2 blocks away from his home near Ft. Riley, Kansas on October 14, 2011. Evans had recently returned from his second tour in Iraq where he served as a combat medic. He was due to return home to Indiana for the holidays to see his 4 year old son.
